Dear Furzedown
As you’ll probably remember, we (FCN) recently invited people in Furzedown to nominate people who have made a valuable contribution to our Furzedown community in the past year, in order for that contribution to be acknowledged and recognised.
We have had a good number of nominations, for which many thanks. (Several people were nominated by more than one person.) This reflects the excellent voluntary work which people in Furzedown have kindly been doing, mainly, but not only, during lockdown. We are very pleased to be making awards to all 14 individual people or groups nominated. These are:
– Alan Snowden
– Alison Sugden
– Budgens Supermarket and staff
– Chris Ram
– Denise and Bob Broad
– Janneke Diemel and Niall Barrett
– Lucinda Denning
– Lyndsay Randow
– Mowgli, leader of 4th Streatham Sea Scouts
– Noah Robinson
– Patrick Stockwell
– Residents of 167 Crowborough Road
– Stasie Capewell
– Vito Ward
More information is on this page. Congratulations and many thanks to each of these people for their contributions to the Furzedown community, particularly during the recent difficult and uncertain times. We will be presenting them with framed certificates from FCN, and with life membership of FCN. We are hoping to do this presentation in person. This won’t be possible for the present, but we are hoping that we may be able to do this at the FCN AGM in January/ February. (In the meantime we are sending these people an electronic version of the certificate.)
We think it will also be good to repeat this local community award scheme sometime, probably next year. We will of course keep you informed on this.
Best wishes
