COVID vaccine and travelling

If you’re planning to travel abroad, you can get proof that you’ve been vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19). This is your COVID-19 Vaccination Status.

IMPORTANT: Some countries may also require a negative COVID-19 test result. ALWAYS CHECK THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COUNTRY YOU ARE VISITING BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR TRAVEL.

You can choose how to get your COVID-19 vaccination status You can view and download your COVID-19 vaccination status using:

1. The NHS App.

You will need to register at least 2 weeks before your departure date.

To use the NHS App you must be registered with a GP surgery in England. [This is NOT the NHS COVID-19 app used for track and trace]

2. On the NHS Website

You can view and download your COVID-19 vaccination status online. You will need to register at least 2 weeks before your departure date.

3. By calling 119 for a letter

You can call 119 and ask for a letter with your COVID-19 vaccination status to be posted to you.      This must be at least 5 days after you complete your course of the vaccine. You do not need to know your NHS number to get a letter, but the process to request a letter may be quicker if you do. You can find your NHS number online.

Thanks to Denise Broad for creating that information.
